Terms of Service

Bytefolio is a knowledge management company building tools for engineering and product teams. The Service offers a platform to capture, organize, and retrieve technical knowledge including code snippets, system designs, documentation, and more. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Bytefolio grants you a limited right to access and use the Service.

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep this information up to date. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

The Service allows you to create or join organisations. Organisation administrators may have access to content and activity within their organisation. By joining an organisation, you consent to sharing certain information with other organisation members and administrators.

You may provide inputs to the Service ("Inputs") such as code snippets, documentation, system designs, API specifications, runbooks, notes, and links. You retain ownership of your Inputs. By submitting Inputs to the Service, you represent and warrant that you have all rights, licenses, and permissions necessary for us to process the Inputs under these Terms and to provide the Service to you.

You grant Bytefolio a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, store, process, and display your Inputs solely to provide the Service to you. This includes generating vector embeddings for semantic search and AI-powered retrieval features.

You agree not to submit Inputs that: (a) violate any applicable law or regulation; (b) infringe any third party's intellectual property or other rights; (c) contain malware, viruses, or harmful code; (d) are defamatory, obscene, or offensive; or (e) violate these Terms.

The Service includes AI-powered features such as semantic search, contextual retrieval, and MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration. These features process your content to provide relevant results and enable AI coding assistants to access your knowledge base.

BYTEFOLIO WILL NOT USE CONTENT TO TRAIN, OR ALLOW ANY THIRD PARTY TO TRAIN, ANY AI MODELS, UNLESS YOU'VE EXPLICITLY AGREED TO THE USE OF CONTENT FOR TRAINING. You can find instructions in the Service for how to manage your preferences regarding the use of Inputs for training.

Certain features may use third-party AI services to process your queries. When you use these features, your queries may be sent to these third-party services. We select partners who commit to not training on customer data.

The Service and all related technology, including software, designs, text, graphics, and logos, are owned by Bytefolio or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to Bytefolio's intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described herein.

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant Bytefolio a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use such feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Bytefolio regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
